    James Bailey

    Musician

About the artist: Precussionist: Since he was six years old James Bailey has been hooked on precussion instruments. His first instrument was the dashboard of his parents various cars. He especially liked the metal dashboard of a 1954 Studebaker his dad called the Little Brown Jug. After many years of lessons, high school band classes and the MCC college Jazz program under Don Bothwell in 1982-84, James started putting together his own band in 1989. The Loose Cannons Blues Band has been performing their unique style of "DEEP" Traditional Chicago Style Blues in Arizona since December 1990. JAMES BAILEY, the original Loose Cannon, band founder and DRUMMER along with some of the most proficient blues musicians in Arizona make up this full six piece blues band - lead guitar, rhythm guitar, sax or harmonica, rhythm guitar, keyboard, bass and drums - which can also perform as a four or five piece band depending on the venue. In addition, James has started a Zydeco/Cajun, Jazz, Rockabilly, R&B and 60's rock band.

The Loose Cannons Blues Band features LUTHER JACKSON, an accomplished - and authentic - blues vocalist. Mr. Jackson has been performing the blues for over fifty years (since 1948). First in Chicago and now for the last ten(10) years in PHOENIX, AZ with the LOOSE CANNONS BLUES BAND.

Mr. Jackson first performed with his brother Joe Jackson (father of the famed Jackson Five) in a blues band called THE FALCONS during the Fifties and Sixties. "We're just trying to get back to the blues", says Luther Jackson of the band, "We take some Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and T-Bone and mix it all together with whatever sounds good with the blues."

Mr. Jackson is a Vintage bluesman in the truest sense of the word, with a rich and earthy authentic voice. A quality which highlights his unorthodox but consistent rhythm guitar style.

Performances include The House Of Blues in Los Angeles, Cajun House in Scottsdale, Rhythm Room in Phoenix, many large Festivals and the Hon Dah Casino in Pinetop, Arizona. The Loose Cannons Blues Band's CD "Welcome - Live at the Hon Dah Casino" was recorded at the Hon Dah Casino in Pinetop, Arizona.

If you like down home blues with a big city flavor...then The Loose Cannons Blues Band featuring Luther Jackson will satisfy.
