About the artist: Lisa Albinger was born in 1976 in Wisconsin and received her BFA in 1999 from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Born with scoliosis Lisa spent nearly four years in a back brace. A reflection of her life experience, her art depicts the gift of life, imminent death, and the celebration of individuality. Each painting is created using cotton swabs and paper towel. There was a distinct absence of brushes until Lisa began using a paintbrush to capture fine details in 2005, although she certainly prefers the cotton. Her art lives in collections around the world as Lisa’s collectors seem to create little obsessions of her work. Some obsessions can indeed be healthy.
