2010 Summer Concert Series - Chris Burton Jacom? Flamenco Ensemble
August 7, 2010
In collaboration with the Flagstaff Cultural Partners, The Arboretum presents regional performers with world music influences. Concerts are held outdoors under the shade of the cool pines with a view of the San Francisco Peaks. Rain or shine. Bring a picnic dinner and blanket or concert chairs. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. For Arizona-born guitarist Chris Burton Jacom? it's all about flamenco, a style in favor of which he cast aside the rock and roll aspirations of his youth. While living in Sevilla, Spain, Chris studied flamenco guitar with some of the greatest flamenco performers of this era including: Miguel Arag?n, Manolo Franco, Ethan Margolis, Juan del Gastor, Juan Amador, Juana Amaya, Enrique Robles, Segundo Falc?n and Cristo "El Franc?s." Since Chris' return from Spain, he has been performing over 200 shows a year and has played many sold-out performances throughout the US and Canada. Chris' music can be heard scoring the Emmy Award Winning PBS television special: Flamenco (broadcast in Arizona by KAET-TV Channel 8: Mike Sauceda, producer), and on many popular tv shows.
